Citizens Advice Sessions

Fortnightly drop in sessions at Newton Community Centre Tuesdays 1pm-3pm get help to manage your money.

Quality assured advice, support and guidance to ensure people receive access to specialist welfare benefits and money advice services

Planned projects

Money awareness in schools – a self-sustaining project that trains volunteers to run money
awareness sessions in school
 500 pupils participating
 4 trainers trained
 30% of pupils taking part opening savings accounts
 3 schools opening volunteer banks

Fuel Poverty – this project is still under development and will look at ways of helping residents to reduce their fuel bills and making their homes fuel efficient
Affordable Credit – this project is still under development and will look at how residents can be encouraged to use credit unions and other affordable credit options
